The L Suite x Claude for the Legal Industry Partnership: Peer Intelligence, Anywhere You Work

When Greg and I started this community, the premise was pretty simple: being a GC is a tough and lonely job, but if we could bring our peers together in the same room, we could create a supportive network that all of us benefit from. That's still the core of what we're building around today.

Eleven years later, that network has evolved from quarterly dinners and a Google Group listserv to a thoughtfully curated community experience with 550+ annual events across the US and Europe, all supported by a robust member platform called the Braintrust. And that “room” has 2,500+ GCs and their legal teams in it – swapping hard-won lessons and best practices, vetted referrals and templates, and honest takes on everything from contract playbooks to structuring a legal department.

An aligned mission to help in-house counsel succeed

Anthropic’s legal team has been a long-time member of The L Suite and they are investing heavily in providing resources for lawyers to help them do their job better – which is closely aligned with our mission here at The L Suite.

So, today, we’re taking the next leap forward – partnering with Anthropic to make the collective intelligence of this incredible community more accessible.

The practical upshot is two new ways to access The L Suite's community intelligence directly inside Claude:

For All In-House Counsel

• TopCounsel by The L Suite: A Claude connector that helps in-house counsel find the right outside counsel for a specific matter based on The L Suite’s proprietary rankings and algorithm.

For Members

• Lloyd by The L Suite: A private, members-only Claude connector that unlocks access to the full Braintrust knowledge base without having to leave the tool where you already work and have your context and documents. No copying and pasting required

The L Suite’s unique underlying dataset includes peer recommendations, shared experiences, and practical insights from experienced legal leaders who have already worked through similar challenges since 2015. Instead of starting from generic information or paid rankings, you're building from what this accomplished community has actually seen work in practice.

Lloyd is just the beginning

Last week, we announced Lloyd: our community-powered AI assistant for members that harnesses the collective judgment of 2,500+ GC and their legal teams and hundreds of outside counsel and subject-matter experts.

The response was immediate. Members were thrilled to be able to instantly unlock over a decade of peer insights and expert guidance in a single prompt, all grounded in real-world context and cited directly back to the source. These two new Claude connectors are the natural next step.

TopCounsel: Find the right lawyer with more confidence

Finding the right outside counsel has always depended on insider knowledge – recommendations from people you trust. That is inherently limited by who you know and how many times you can bother them with asks. If you're not plugged into the right network, you're guessing.

TopCounsel changes that. It answers a simple question – who is the right lawyer for this issue? – delivering recommendations for individual lawyers, not just firms, so you get specific names to reach out to.

Most importantly, recommendations are based on The L Suite’s vast and unbiased dataset and proprietary ranking algorithm, including:

• Aggregated member sentiment from thousands of peer-to-peer in-house recommendations and outside counsel survey results

• Substantive expertise demonstrated by outside counsel speakers, shared with our community from over 2,000+ individual speaking engagements

• Thousands of documents, templates, shared with our community by outside counsel

Data privacy and confidentiality

As a community built by lawyers, for lawyers – we take privacy very seriously.

For TopCounsel, all results are based on aggregated and anonymized data from all of the sources above to deliver final recommendations to the user. No internal community information or individual data source is provided.

For Lloyd, we have strict requirements for access – it is available only for legal departments that are all members of The L Suite community, and it requires certification of being on a Claude Team or Enterprise account with strict data control requirements.

How to access

As an official Claude for the legal industry launch partner, you can find these connectors in the the Claude connector directory:

TopCounsel is available to all in-house counsel in the Claude directory. Connect and grant access by signing in with LinkedIn when prompted.  

Lloyd by The L Suite is available in the Claude directory for members of The L Suite on a team membership account, whether your legal department is a team of one or a hundred. The application confirms that your company has a Team or Enterprise Claude account with strict data controls and that your full legal department (lawyers + legal ops) is included in your L Suite team membership. Once approved, we’ll create a private link for your team to access the connector. From there, each person on the legal team can add it to their own Claude instance using their Braintrust credentials. No additional setup is required.

Final Thoughts

As we enter this new AI-powered evolution of The L Suite, we’re still grounded in the same place we started: the idea that legal leaders make better and faster decisions when they can tap into what their peers already know. That was true in 2015, and it's even more true today.
